About the Growers

Mornington Green Legacy Gardens is the first memorial forest of its kind. They work closely with horticulture specialists and scientists, and they have created a patented process to transform cremated remains into micronutrients that support the growth of memorial trees.

They are on a mission to connect people to the beauty that life creates by planting living memorial forests which honour and perpetuate life.

“Our goal is to enrich the lives of the people in our community by creating these botanical gardens together for future generations to enjoy.”

From Grief to Growth

Nature has a unique way of reflecting the journey we take through life, and in this garden, we’ve planted the seeds of hope. Scientific studies highlight the profound impact of spending time in nature, showing a significant decrease in feelings of anxiety and depression.

Just like the stages of a sunflower – from seed to shoot, bud, bloom, wilt, and regrowth – our own paths of grief echo a similar complexity: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.

At the end of this journey lies the rebirth of an individual, often unspoken but marked by a newfound ability to love and live again. As you explore our sunflower garden, envision it as a symbolic journey – a place where vibrant blooms inspire renewal, healing, and the joyous remembrance of those who live on in our hearts.

Mornington Green Legacy Gardens is the first botanical memorial forest in the world!

Memorial trees provide a beautiful, environmentally conscientious way to return one’s ashes to the earth as a sustainable alternative to gravestones.

We have formulated a proven and scientific process to transform cremated ashes into micronutrients which are infused into the tree to help it grow, so a person’s life can be perpetuated through that tree’s thousands of seeds and seedlings.
